History: Invasion and civilisation, life in Roman Britain, and what the Romans did for us
Archaeology: Investigating real and replica artefacts including bones, jewellery, coins, pottery, bone utensils and armour
In this session:
- What would it be like to be a Roman child?
- Learn about games played and at ‘Roman School’ discover which parts of Britain were inhabited by the Roman army
- Compare sterling coins and use wax tablet and a stylus
- Dress up as Romans and take part in a banquet
- Handle and draw artefacts, understand the use of each and learn what each tells about those who lived in Roman Britain
Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am -12noon or 1pm – 2.30pm
