Saxon Life: Invasions, settlements and kingdoms

Archaeology: Investigating real and replica artefacts including bones, jewellery, coins, pottery, bone utensils and armour

In this session:

  • Learn why the Saxons came to Britain
  • Understand the derivation of Saxon names
  • Two time-travelling children discuss clothes worn at the time
  • Decipher runes and map-out where in Britain they lived
  • Handle and draw artefacts
  • Discover what we can learn about the people from the objects
  • Create a brooch to take home

Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am–12pm or 1pm–2.30pm

Cost per session: £180
