Archaeology: Investigating real and replica artefacts including bones, jewellery, coins, pottery, bone utensils and armour
In this session:
- Learn why the Saxons came to Britain
- Understand the derivation of Saxon names
- Two time-travelling children discuss clothes worn at the time
- Decipher runes and map-out where in Britain they lived
- Handle and draw artefacts
- Discover what we can learn about the people from the objects
- Create a brooch to take home
Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am–12pm or 1pm–2.30pm
