Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th January – The platform lift is unavailable today and tomorrow at the front of the Hall. The main Hall lift (that accesses all floors) is still available via the West Entrance at the lakeside of the Hall.

The Formal Gardens are now open as normal, along with the remainder of the Park, Grounds & Hall. Wollaton Park is closed to the public until 1pm on Tuesday 20th January and Tuesday 10th February 2026 for essential maintenance.

Come and learn about…

In this session:

  • Identify and name basic body parts
  • Learn whether all creatures have skeletons
  • Investigate how skeletons support our bodies and protect vital organs
  • Learn the names of the most important bones, see x-rays, and collect facts about their shapes and properties.
  • Compare animal specimens and try the ‘bone detectives’ challenge, identifying and sketching different species
  • Visit the natural history galleries and discover creatures with external skeletons, fossilised dinosaur bones plus snake and chimpanzee exhibits

Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30am -12noon or 1pm – 2.30pm

Cost per session: £10 per head includes gallery access, lunchroom and bag storage
