Interested to sing above the sound of the machines….?
Are you passionate about singing?
Do you live or work around Nottingham?
Would you like to be involved in the creation,
rehearsal and recording of a song
to the rhythm of Nottingham Lace Machines?
Nottingham City Museums are looking for people with strong singing voices who represent the diversity of our City today. Taking inspiration from the words of local lace workers from the past, will you add your voice to the mix?
This project forms art of the Part of Global Lace Project funded by Arts Council England.
To help monitor numbers, please book your free ticket for this Info & Informal auditions evening, but please be aware that by signing up the commitment is for all workshops and the final recording sessions, as outlined below:
Info evening & informal auditions – Tuesday 19th July
Workshop & song development – Tuesday 26th July
Rehearsals & recording sessions to take place on all Tuesday evenings in September.
All sessions will be:
Located: Nottingham Industrial Museum (Courtyard Building), Wollaton Park
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Those participating will need to be over 18 and will not need to pay for parking.
Meet the choir lead

Rachel Bussell
Rachel is a Nottingham born musician / writer, who has worked in her field for nearly thirty years.
She spent sixteen years as head of music in a private Christian school, teaching years 3-11, whilst also working freelance teaching piano / vocals, doing session work and writing stage productions.
Rachel has worked with and directed several choirs over the years through schools, churches, gospel events and within communities across a number of different cities. She believes that choirs have a tremendous ability to build a sense of community and to draw people from diverse cultures together.
