Wollaton Hall & Natural History Museum

Discover the Natural History Museum, including the newly refurbished Taxidermist’s Gallery featuring a giraffe, and the Long Gallery featuring George the Gorilla.

Be inspired with the ‘Miniature Masterpieces’ exhibition Disappearing Worlds by Dr Willard Wigan.

Hidden History Tours

Discover the Prospect Room, Tudor Kitchens or Admiral’s Bath with a behind the scenes look of hidden rooms & corridors of Wollaton Hall.

Daily: 11 am & 2 pm.

Outdoor ‘Wellyboot’ Trail

Explore the grounds with our ‘wellyboot’ themed outdoor trail for children.

Available for £2 at all till points (Shop, café and Hall).

Make & Take activities

Get inspired with make & take activities in the Hall, suitable for young children.

Available in the Hall.


Giant lawn games & deck chairs

Our team and volunteers often bring out giant lawn games for visitors to enjoy on the formal gardens lawn.

The games include chess, croquet, archery and skittles – along with table tennis in our courtyard.

These are available on select dates. Ask in the Hall. Weather dependent.

Time: 11 am – 3 pm

Location: Lawn behind the Hall in the Formal Gardens.


Adventure play area

Enjoy spending time outdoors with the family with our adventure play area located near to the 508 café from the Wollaton road entrance.



Indulge with cakes, lunch, hot drinks and children’s lunch boxes in our café with indoor & outdoor seating.

Park walks

With 500 acres of parkland, which is home to all kinds of habitats, including grassland, wetland and woodland, there’s plenty of parkland to explore with friends & family on a big adventure!


Sensing the Brain

An interactive installation using quantum centres to detect electrical activity in the brain – the interactive display lets you see your own brain waves in coloured lights!

In the Hall there will be science stalls, interactive activities and presentations from scientists in the Education Room.
