Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th January – The platform lift is unavailable today and tomorrow at the front of the Hall. The main Hall lift (that accesses all floors) is still available via the West Entrance at the lakeside of the Hall.

The Formal Gardens are now open as normal, along with the remainder of the Park, Grounds & Hall. Wollaton Park is closed to the public until 1pm on Tuesday 20th January and Tuesday 10th February 2026 for essential maintenance.

Black Tudors: Elizabeth’s Story

Meet Elizabeth, Seamstress for Lady Willoughby at Wollaton Hall.  She will tell you about her families’ travels from Africa to Spain and hers to Nottingham, about her job and skills as a seamstress and show you some of the latest Tudor fashions.

Look at replica Tudor textiles and clothing and find out more about what Tudor’s would have worn from royalty to servants.

The group will then have the chance to try out plaiting, weaving on a frame and loom, cord making, and embroidery before using fabric to create their own draped clothing designs.

Duration: 1.5 hours | 10.30-12.00  or 1pm–2.30pm

Cost per session: £10 per head includes gallery access, lunchroom and bag storage
