Leave the world of work for the outdoors!

Are you part of a group or business? Would you like to spend a day with your team out of the office, getting your hands dirty?

We have a variety of physical tasks around the park throughout the year at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. These tasks provide a great opportunity for team working and you would be helping us maintain our grounds for visitors and future generations.

Why choose us?

  • You get to work out doors in one of our beautiful gardens alongside experienced staff members.
  • It gives your team the opportunity to do personal and team development in a very different environment – and have fun at the same time.
  • Whilst working with us, your team will be carrying out specific tasks that contribute to the work programme at Wollaton Park and Newstead Abbey.

To discuss further how you might like your team to get involved contact us via our Corporate Volunteering Enquiry Form and return it to volunteer.programme@nottinghamcity.gov.uk

Please note that we generally appreciate help on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Wednesdays in our Formal Gardens: Join us for general light gardening, including deadheading, planting, and more. This session is capped at 12 people.

Thursdays in our Historic Walled Garden: Assist with conservation tasks such as clearing brambles, tidying up areas, and removing weeds from walls. This session is capped at 20 people. If your group is larger than 15, further planning will be required, and we may need to split the group into two working parties.

Feedback from companies that volunteered with us

“The team thoroughly enjoyed helping out for the morning and it was great to have the introduction and guided tour of the Secret Walled Garden. Everyone made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much for having us!”Anthea, Boots

“We had great fun and loved to see the volunteers and yourselves are so passionate about the Gardens. What you are doing is fantastic and I wish we had more days to help. Grahams talk at the beginning was really interesting and we enjoyed learning about the secret gardens and what they were used for.” – Kirstie, Capital One
